Reminder of our August 16 – 18 York River Yacht Haven Cruise

Get out of the heat!  Get on your boat or car with your BFF and sail or motor over to the York River Yacht Haven.  The Fleet is getting together over the Aug 16-18 weekend to relax, cool off, and just tell “war stories” of our adventures on the Bay!

Friday eve at 5 pm, Tom and Tammi will host a ‘social hour’ on Our Eden in slip E-9.  Bring a snack to share and your drink.  (We prefer sharing the snack and not your drink!) Tom has PLENTY of ice to keep your drinks cool.  We can congregate in the salon around the a/c, on the fly bridge to catch the breeze, and on the aft deck under Chandler’s NEW awning.  Dinner this night will be spontaneous.  Folks can migrate to the restaurant on the premises, borrow Tom’s car if they want to go downtown, make your own dinner plans with fellow boaters, or just plain blow off dinner and have more snacks, maybe up by the pool?!

Sat, we’ll plan on dinner on the deck adjacent to the pool.  Bring a dish to share and a meat/seafood for grilling.  Suggest 6 pm as the sun is setting but we’ll play this one by ear.  At the moment, no definitive plans have been made for Saturday.  Sorry Pat, no horseshoes for you to fine tune your skills.  Bring your favorite game ideas, cards, etc. and maybe we can setup impromptu gaming by the pool.  I heard chess is a popular sport for a couple ‘old’ guys.  We’ll have cards for those wanting to play anything but “Old Maid”….(Tammi says ‘strip poker’ will not be allowed….she’s afraid Tom might lose and none of us want that to happen…an image that will be difficult to forget!)

Make your reservations as soon as possible!!  We may be competing with another club for a limited number of slips.  I’d like to have reservations in no later than by Wed the 14th to firm up slip assignments.  If you can’t make that date, please don’t let that keep you from coming.  The dock master is very resourceful!  She found me a slip last fall with the hurricane only a couple days offshore.

Call or email Tom Bucklin with the following information;

If you decide to anchor out in the HOT temps, you can dinghy in to the dinghy dock.  There is a $10 fee per person if you’re using the showers or pool area.

This will be Tom and Tammi’s first Fleet 30 rendezvous this year by boat.  They are looking forward to seeing everyone again.  Tom will be monitoring the radio and be on the dock assisting with your arrival.  Be safe out there!
